Artist Statement

My work bridges the connection between humans and the natural world through art, focusing on the animals and landscapes of the American Southwest. Using a mix of man-made and nature-sourced materials including handmade inks, and charcoal from wildfire burn scars, I evoke the magic of these wild spaces and our relationship to them. Animals in my work serve as advocates for nature, with each individually named to foster empathy, while gestural marks and soft abstractions in landscapes capture the energy of the outdoors. My art offers a deeper connection that shares my joy in nature.
